Shavkat Mirziyoyev launches Kia Sonet Prime production and press shop at ADM Jizzakh

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched production of the Kia Sonet Prime and opened a new press shop at ADM Jizzakh during the Uzbek-Korean business forum in Seoul.

Speaking at the forum, the head of state described Korea as a time-tested friend and a special strategic partner for Uzbekistan. He invited Korean businesses to invest in new production facilities and in developing technology and infrastructure. As he put it, "the strategic task is to move from assembly plants to modern full-cycle clusters." The goal is to turn Uzbekistan into one of the region's key production, technology and export hubs.

The new press shop marks another step in boosting localisation, which already exceeds 40%. It will produce 19 types of body components, with the plant capable of turning out 120,000 sets a year. The project will replace $92.5 million worth of imports and save $45.2 million in logistics costs. Total investment in the project came to more than $50 million.

The launch of the new Kia Sonet Prime crossover at ADM Jizzakh continues the carmaker's drive to build modern, high-quality and practical vehicles. The new version of the Sonet, already a popular choice among Uzbek drivers, brings a sharper design, enhanced digital capabilities and a range of advanced technology.
